Andrea + Moni’s Twilight Inspired Formal Outdoor Hornings Hideout Wedding

We first met Andrea via phone call as she drove from Seattle to Portland for a holiday to see family. That first phone call was filled with so many laughs and jokes, we knew it was going to be a great fit. Yet to have met Moni, we had heard that he had lots of friends and LOVED to party!

All of the meetings leading up to the wedding day were just with Andrea as Moni was very busy at work and unable to attend. Andrea explained that they wanted their own version of Twilight with a timeless and classic feel.

They wanted this to be the best party they had ever thrown..and that’s just what they did. They threw one hell of a party!

Let’s start from the beginning…before we partied, we set the scene.

Hornings Hideout made such a beautiful landscape and is a venue that can transform for almost any style. With Andrea and Moni wanting a Twilight inspired, classic affair, setting the event deep in the trees and lit with market lights created the perfect timeless design that they could appreciate years to come. With custom covered daybeds for guests to lounge and a “cocktail style” set up, Andrea and Moni’s guests danced and partied the night away.

The dinner scene was just as beautiful with pretty layers and details at every setting.

We designed two different tablescapes to add interest and depth, wood farm tables and white linen tables.

So, back to the “party”…To throw the best party you’ve ever thrown you have to have a choreographed first dance. So, Andrea + Moni took dance lessons and WOW did they pay off. What a show! It was so romantic and without a doubt will be one of the memorable highlights people will reminisce about.

Beyond the party, having incredible food (authentic Koren food) was really important to them. We knew just the catering team to hire, Chefstable Catering.

Their day was full of beautiful lush white floral in the middle of a shaded evergreen forest with sounds of a string quartet and a pianist in the background while champagne was poured for guests at every check point. Wailua Shaved Ice was a fun after dinner treat and you know we love DJ’s so to have one of the best known club DJ’s in NYC, Miami, Vegas and California hired to Dj the event was well…something that we could really only explain as “a absolute dream.”

One of our favorite memories was right before sending Moni and his mother walking down the aisle he looked us dead in the eyes, with tears in his eyes, and thanked us saying “this day was all they could ever dream of and more”. And that my friends made our entire year. Just a small reminder why we do what we do.

Floral trends come and go, but every so often a new bloom (or branch) steals the spotlight. This season, smoke bush has become the unexpected star of wedding design. Its dreamy, cloud-like texture paired with statement flowers like lilies creates lush, dimensional arrangements that feel both modern and romantic. While roses and peonies will always have their place, smoke bush adds an edge that feels fresh, original, and unforgettable.

The ceremony may be about tradition, but the reception is about freedom, fun, and personality. That is exactly why more and more brides are swapping their gowns for a second look, and loving every minute of it.

We love a good guest favor, but only if it’s useful. Skip the trinkets that end up in junk drawers and think about favors that tie to your story.
