What is a Micro Wedding?

What is a micro wedding: A micro wedding is a smaller-scale wedding celebration that typically has a guest count of 20-25 or less, and has a shorter and much more simplistic timeline. Most often, micro weddings will have an intimate ceremony and a more casual and relaxed reception (or even a 20 person highly styled dinner!), should the couple choose to host a reception at all.

Before March of 2020, the concept of a Micro Wedding was not often considered or discussed, not with Luxe clients at least. Now, fast forward, we are living in a whole new world -living with in a Pandemic with no vaccine in sight -there’s a new world order of sorts and a lot of new rules on how and where we can even have a wedding safely. Welcome the “Micro Wedding” trend. It’s the hottest trend in weddings and it’s the new “We Eloped” but with 25 of our friends…

Now more venues than ever before are offering their space for smaller more intimate nuptials…Learn what rules you should know if your are planning a Micro Wedding in a Venue in Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Venues in Phase 1: Indoor social get-togethers are capped at 10 people with physical distancing. Cultural, civic, and faith gatherings are capped at 50 people with physical distancing for indoors or outdoors.

Venues in Phase 2: Limit the gathering capacity to a maximum of 100 people indoor or 250 people outdoor, not to exceed 250 indoor and outdoor; or the number of people, including staff, based on a determination of capacity (square footage/occupancy), whichever is less. If venue/event operators host a single event that occurs both indoors and outdoors, total maximum capacity cannot exceed 250 people, including staff.
